In this site, we want to highlight things—from governmental policies to simple decisions— that were taken with good intentions yet led to a worse outcome. This outcome could have happened as a result of many factors, such as unintended consequences, system abuse, or gross miscalculation. Our goal to shed light on these occurrences so as to help us be cognizant of the consequences of our actions, both on an individual and societal level.

We understand that history is seldom easy to portray and that information and viewpoints may differ- so please feel free to challenge us or add your thoughts to any of these :)

We think it's important to discuss what we consider constitutes a good intention. We consider a 'Good Intention' to be either:
• A mental state in which the agent commits to a positive course of action.
• Any course of action taken with a positive end goal in mind.
There are cases in which an agent claims a good intention publicly while having undisclosed alternate intents. We will count these as a positive intention nonetheless, while noting interfering interests to the best of our knowledge. This is important, as identities should be held accountable for their actions, including misleading the public into thinking something is a good intention.
